Tokyo Olympics 2020: Russia banned from Tokyo Olympics 2020 and football World Cup.
Russia, which has been continuously targeted for doping, has received a big blow. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has found Russia guilty of violating the rules of doping on a large scale.
He has since banned Russia from participating in the next Olympics (Tokyo Olympics 2020), Football World Cup (2022) and World Championships. The next Olympics are to be held in the Tokyo Olympics in Japan next year. Russia has been banned for a total of four years.
Information about this ban on Russia has been released by TAS News Agency. According to this, WADA found in its investigation that Russia manipulated the statistics of doping extensively. He did this by planning and presenting fake evidence for this. Also destroyed the evidence and file proving doping.
The case of conflation of doping figures by Russia came up in 2014-15. Russia then hosted Winter Olympics. According to the report, in order to win medals in Russia, these athletes deliberately gave their athletes powerful substances which were in the banned list of WADA. After this, some of his players were also barred from participating in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
After investigating Russia’s doping cases, the Executive Committee of WADA decided to ban it. Russia has been banned for a total of four years. Due to this, he will not be able to participate in big events like Olympics and World Championships.
Russia can appeal against this ban within the next 21 days by WAdA. If he does so, the case will be referred to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS). Wada has adopted a very tough attitude towards Russia. However, WAdA vice president Linda Helland said, ‘This ban on Russia is not enough.’
